The reduction of working hours for surgical residents has had an effect on the confidence of McGill General in their students’ mastering of the various techniques and skills required in the performance of their profession. In order to counter this, the teaching hospital has developed a system of continuous evaluation, whereby surgical residents are repetitively appraised on one or more sets of skills by their professors. For now, these evaluations are made using paper documents and the processing cycle (about 3 months) is proving too long to allow a timely response.
Keeward helped McGill General digitize the process by creating an app version of the evaluations.
