Our Team

  • Sany
    Sany
    SANY NAUFAL
    CEO Books Without Borders

Sany co-runs the Cedar Books pool of companies. He says he’s unique, just like the other 7 billion people around him. His superpowers include getting stuff to work just by willing it real hard. Steve Jobs and Master Yoda his heroes are. He thinks the whole Keeward team is better than he was at their age, which we think is humble and kinda nice.

  • Cyril
    Cyril
    CYRIL HADJI-THOMAS
    CEO

Cyril is the Keeward CEO, but he tries to make sure no one treats him as such by rolling up his sleeves and being involved in every project. He’s a self-declared geek, the poster child of Apple fanboys (he has about 5 devices on him at all times) and thinks the Silver Surfer is cool. Oh, and he’d like Benjamin to give him back his 1941 DVD.

  • Tania
    Tania
    TANIA MEHANNA
    Director of Tamyras

Tania is the director of Tamyras publishing. She has worn many hats, as a teacher and professor, an editor, journalist, conceptual copywriter and author of six books. She’s vivacious and enthusiastic, and we can’t help but feel her energy in the office. Her heroes include Scarlett O’Hara and Dalida.

  • Frank
    Frank
    FRANCK MANDON
    Artistic Director

Frank isn’t quite sure what he does at Keeward, but we are. He’s the guy who makes sure everything looks pretty and works perfectly as an experience. He’s the head of design, basically. His heroes are Cheech & Chong and he sums himself up with the world ‘bullit’ (we told you he was a designer). If he were an iPhone app, he’d be the Phone. Smart.

  • Vincent
    Vincent
    VINCENT KLIMMECK
    System Architect

No one’s quite sure what Vincent does at Keeward. Well, that’s what he likes to think, but we all know he’s our star systems architect. For his life story, he’s advised us to consult his psychiatrist. His hero is Iron Man, probably because he’s made up of lots of complicated parts. If he were an app, he’d be AlloCine.

  • Dima
    Dima
    DIMA EL KURDI
    Marketing Coordinator for Tamyras

Dima takes care of marketing at Tamyras. She thinks her best superpower is the ability to put large numbers of books in boxes. She loves books, and since she can’t write one (or so she thinks) she’s decided she’ll help sell them. She’s a total foodie and if she were an iPhone app it would be Mixology.

  • Marilyn
    Marilyn
    MARILYN ZAKHOUR
    Head of Venture Development

Marilyn is Head of Venture Development at Keeward. In other words, she gets stuff done. She’s an architect by training, who plans to never have a building to her name. The Joker is her hero, so be afraid, very afraid. She’d like to remind Dan she has pictures of him at that wedding. With the dancing. Again, be afraid.

  • Elie
    Elie
    ELIE SOUEIDY
    Lead Developer

Elie is Lead Developer at App&Above. He says he’s a geek, a perfectionist, curious & not funny (although we’d disagree, he always makes us smile). If he were an iPhone app he’d be iOS (must be a developer joke…). Oh, and the meaning of life is 42.

  • Vida
    Vida
    VIDA GHARIB
    Online Sales VP

Vida is Online Sales VP at Cedar Books. She claims that she can read minds, which worries us a little. (Hope she can’t hear what we’re thinking now.) She’s a smiley people person and enjoys supporting her team. If she were an iPhone app, it would be Springpad.

  • Renaud
    Renaud
    RENAULD COLAS
    Technical Director

Renaud manages HomeResa. He regularly uses his superpowers of divination and telekinesis to get the job done. He’s curious and of a happy disposition. His heroes include Batman and the Silver Surfer (the basis of a life-long friendship with Cyril?).

  • Marie-christine
    Marie-christine
    MARIE-CHRISTINE BECHARA
    Project Manager

M-C is a project manager at Keeward. Her recipe for success involves ambition, opportunity, a lot of patience, talent and a touch of luck. Her hero is Colonel Sanders. Yep, that one. Not because his chicken is finger lickin’ good, but because he persevered in the face of numerous rejections by businessmen, and created an iconic empire.

  • Hratch
    Hratch
    HRATCH ZEINTUNLIAN
    System Analyst

Hratch’s main role at Keeward is to eat and get everyone around him to eat. When he’s not doing that, he’s our star system analyst. His hero is Austin Powers, but he has considerably nicer teeth. He uses a PC rather than a Mac, but we don’t hold it against him.

  • Nasri
    Nasri
    NASRI ATALLAH
Partner | Media, Publishing & Production

Nasri is a media and publishing consultant at Keeward. He uses his power of OCD for good and believes uncluttered spaces help the mind be creative. If he had to describe himself in 5 words, he’d say he’s curious. And then forget to give you 4 more words. His hero is Bananaman. Google it. The meaning of life lies at the bottom of a box of Pringles.

  • Marie
    Marie
    MARIE NAKHLE
    Project Manager

Marie is a project manager at Keeward. She loves books and social media. Like, really loves them. If you ask her to give you 5 words that define her she just says ‘analytic’, which we think is pretty cool. Her hero is any woman with a perfect work life balance, who changes the world and looks good doing it.

  • Danny
    Danny
    DANNY HAGE
    Lead Developer

Danny makes things called websomething. Websites, that’s it. The power of geek is strong with him. When asked what iPhone app he’d be, he replies ‘A virus that would kill it’. So, we think he’s happy with his Android. He spends most of his day waking up and thinking about going back to bed.

  • Jessy
    Jessy
    JESSY BECHARA
    Project Manager

Jessy is an assistant project manager at Keeward. She studied journalism, but chose to ignore that detail by joining us. She’s ambitious and stubborn (the good kind). Admirably, she’s her own hero. She believes no one can go back and make a new beginning, but you can change your life today and make sure you get a new ending. Wise words.

  • Ben
    Ben
    BENJAMIN BELLAMY
    COO

Ben is COO at Keeward. He can read the matrix, bend spoons (with his hands) and he can make Ogero’s Internet connection work in the office. Seriously. He’s a dreamer and a perfectionist, but his hero is Winston Wolf from Pulp Fiction, which worries us a little. He believes that PCs are part of Apple’s plan to avoid antitrust laws.

  • Lamia
    Lamia
    LAMIA GERIOS
    Developer

Lamia is a software engineer at Keeward. When asked what the secret to her happy demeanour is, she just says she enjoys what she does. Her hero is Kung Fu Panda and if she were an iPhone app, she’d be the Calendar. Ask her the meaning of life and she’ll say ‘lalalalala’. Maybe she has a point.

  • Krystel
    Krystel
    KRYSTEL SFEIR ABIKHALIL
    Supply Chain Manager

Krystel is a Supply Chain Manager with the Cedar Books team. She is capable of remaining patient no matter what. She believes that life is what happens when you can’t get to sleep. So, stay away from those snooze buttons everyone.

  • Elizabeth
    Elizabeth
    ELIZABETH EL KHOURY
    Supply Chain Manager

Elisabeth works with the Cedar Books team. She says her main superpower is patience, but we’d say it’s her boundless energy. She’s enthusiastic about everything, and we mean everything. Which is great, because it helps grumpier team members (yes you, Nasri) have a positive outlook on the world.

  • Patricia
    Patricia
    PATRICIA MOUKARZEL
    Editor for Tamyras

Patricia is a book editor at Tamyras, which requires her to use her superhuman ability to sit still for long periods of time. Her hero is Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. She resents being asked what iPhone app she’d be, waving her Android in our face. As for her story, she says she’ll have to kill us if she shares it. So we backed away, slowly.

  • Joelle
    Joelle
    JOELLE MAROUN
    Supply Chain Manager

Joelle is a sales representative with Cedar Books. She’s ambitious and her favourite hero is Charlotte Aux Fraises (don’t worry, we had to Google it too). She enjoys all the funny stuff that people say around her all day, and believes that you should learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow.

  • Georges
    Georges
    GEORGES HAKME
    Research Engineer

Georges helps make stuff work at Keeward, using his riddle solving skills. He seems himself as an undefined variable, which is to say adaptable. His hero is the dog in Tom and Jerry. He believes you shouldn’t read too much (euhm, we disagree) so that you don’t inherit other people’s views of the world.

  • Michel
    Michel
    MICHEL ABI KHALIL
    Lead Developer

Michel is a lead developer at Keeward. His superpowers are fuelled by his ability to mobilize Beirut’s fast food delivery services. He hopes to always be funny and inspire respect. His hero would be Superman armed with a Mac.

  • Sana
    Sana
    SANA ABOU CHACRA
    Chief Accountant

Sana is the head accountant at Keeward. She claims to have magical superpowers (should we be scared?), and when asked to use five words to define her, she just says unique. Her hero is Zorro (we wonder if that’s code for ‘Antonio Banderas’). For her, the meaning of life is to be safe and happy and we can’t help but agree.

  • Najwa
    Najwa
    NAJWA MAALOUF
    Accountant

Najwa is an accountant with Keeward. She is ambitious and happy, and hopes to keep the people she works around happy too. If she were an iPhone app, she’d be a ringtone. She believes in living a life full of purpose and meaning.

  • Diaa
    Diaa
    DIAA SALHA
    Accountant

Diaa is an accountant with Keeward. She lists her superpower rather cryptically as ‘miscellaneous talents’, which makes us think she’s hiding an ability to fly. But then again, she describes herself in one word: honest. She thinks heroes are best left in the pages of books and in movies.

  • Sam
    Diaa
    SAMER HOBEIKA
    Senior Developer

Uncle Sam’s does two things at Keeward, he builds mobile apps and makes a killer cup of coffee. He even says his superpower is turning music and coffee into mobile apps. He also says he’s a coffee addict. Can you see a pattern yet? If he were an app he’d be Instagram (retro and grainy?).

  • Joelle
    Joelle
    JOELLE AOUN
    Junior Project Manager

Joelle is a project manager at Keeward. She says she can shapeshift, which is why we use her as an extra desk sometimes. She drinks water, her hero is Loplop (we had to Google it too, don’t worry). If she were an iPhone app she’d be Dragonvale, which isn’t surprising because she’s odd and odd people like to start dragon parks.

  • Mark
    Mark
    MARK LTEIF
    CFO

Mark is CFO at Cedar Books. He’s afraid of heights, which can be explained by the fact he was an earthworm in a past life. If he were an iPhone app he’d be Adaptu Wallet (that’s why he’s a CFO). He says life is the feeling you get when you can’t suppress a smile, which we think is quite charming.

  • Yann
    Yann
    YANN TRABOULSI
    Junior Project Manager

Yann is a junior project manager at Keeward. He’s spent most of his life between Dubai and New York, and is just discovering Lebanon. He has a heightened sense of observation and says that if he were a mobile app he’d be Cydia (Apple can’t be too happy about that). He says the meaning of life is to find extraterrestrial life, then add them on Facebook. Sounds legit.

  • Marwan
    Marwan
    MARWAN TOUTOUNJI
    Developer

Marwan is a mobile developer at Keeward. He says there is no spoon and that he writes code without even touching his keyboard (that may be a Matrix reference, but we haven’t seen that movie in ages). He says his hero is Naruto, and something about multiple shadow clones and rasengan. We’re as confused as you are.

  • Michel
    Michel
    MICHEL ABDO
    Junior Developer

Michel is a web developer at Keeward. He can see through walls, and sneaks up on Dany to steal his code (after fixing the bugs of course). His hero is Chuck Norris, because of his roundhouse kick and his ability to divide by zero. He says the Keeward gang love to beat him up. The authorities have been notified.

  • Wissam
    Wissam
    WISSAM EL RAYESS
    Accountant

Wissam is an accountant at Keeward. He’s ambitious and strong-willed and says Batman is his hero. He says life is about being true to yourself.

  • Alain
    Alain
    ALAIN
    System Engineer

Alain is a system engineer at Keeward. He’s mysterious and discrete, but managed to use his dual superpowers at work: sudo and root. He thinks we should all cut down on the birthday cakes at Keeward, because we’re starting to weigh the building down.

  • Anthony
    Alain
    ANTHONY ABINADER
    Consultant

Anthony is a startupper, consultant and percussionist at Keeward. Besides giving the world his acute sense of rhythm, he’s also the founder of Foodgoose, a kick-ass online food ordering platform. We hope that means our lunches are free from now on. He’d tell us the meaning of life, but he hasn’t had a chance to ask Marilyn yet since she’s always busy.

  • Kanzi
    Kanzi
    KANZI KAMEL
    Community Manager

Kanzi is a community manager and copywriter at Keeward. She was hired following claims that she has an infinite supply of tea, words, cookies and magic. She can make a soufflé from scratch and says that Will Ferrell in Zoolander is her hero. But only on Tuesdays, the rest of the week it’s the Brain. The meaning of life is cheesecake on a rainy day.

  • Nader
    Nader
    NADER MANSOUR
    Consultant

Nader says he’s Chief Operating Rocker at Keeward, which basically means he’s our music management consultant. He’s an ex-financial engineer, voodoo priest, shaman. His hero is Donatello, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, not the Renaissance painter. If he were an iPhone app he’d be Shazam, obviously. He secretly wishes he was Yann in a lot of situations.

  • Nicolas
    Nader
    NICOLAS CHARABATY
    Senior Web Developer

Nicholas is a senior web developer at Keeward. He’s in love with code creativity (he can’t do art, so it’ll have to do). He describes himself as ergonomic and straight forward, and his hero is Newton (which doesn’t mean he likes Apple). If he were an iPhone app he’d be stone skipping. He doesn’t have any juicy stories about the team, and let’s hope it stays that way. Badda bing.
